PRO Party Maintains Autonomy Under Macri and Martínez

Soledad Martínez, vice president of the PRO party and mayor of Vicente López, was one of the main advocates for the PRO to maintain its autonomy from the national Congress during the party meeting chaired today by former President Mauricio Macri. According to sources from Noticias Argentinas, Martínez was one of the strongest voices who alerted to the need for the party to have its own blocs in Parliament and provincial legislatures. "The objective is to preserve the party's identity and allow it to become a national alternative again," the sources consulted indicated. With Macri and Martínez's push, it was decided that the PRO will not form an inter-bloc with La Libertad Avanza (LLA) in either of the two chambers of Congress, thus maintaining its independence from the ruling party.
